Soho, How it has changed

So here I sit, outside Cafe Nero In Old Compton Street in central London on a warm autumn midweek morning.
It's different, I can feel it, this area was one of my haunts in the 1990s and 2000s, it had a decadent, cosmopolitan, edgy feel to it at that time. It was also the centre of the film Industry, 20th Century Fox among others used to be based in Soho Square, just up the road.
I know it's only 1030 in the Morning, but it feels, empty, the spark and soul doesn't feel like it's here anymore. I have been here in the evenings the last few months and, yes it's busy, but it feels like any other ordinary street in London now.
Why? So many factors, changes in working practices, no longer do you need expensive office spaces, with high ground rents, you can work from home now. Social media has changed how people interact and meet each other now, you can sit at home and blog and interact and receive likes and follows, no need to travel or pay for expensive drinks or meals.
Perhaps I'm too old and don't understand this new world, or perhaps I am seeing things through different eyes?
